Product Description: Crop Text

Product descriptions can be long. Use the start/end position settings to show only a portion on your label.

How to Crop

1. In the template editor, select a Text element.
2. Set Link To → Product Description.
3. In the properties panel, set:
   1. Start position: Which character to start from (0 = beginning)
   2. End position: Which character to stop at

Example

Description: “Handmade organic cotton t-shirt, available in multiple colors”

• Start: 0, End: 30 → “Handmade organic cotton t-shir”
• Start: 0, End: 50 → “Handmade organic cotton t-shirt, available in mult”

Tips

• Shopify product descriptions may contain HTML tags. BarcodeMan strips HTML and shows plain text.
• If your description is too long for the label, reduce font size or use crop to fit the available space.
