Template editor

What it does

The template editor controls your label’s layout, data fields, and paper settings.

How to open it

Open Templates. In the newer interface, click a template; in the earlier table, click its pencil icon in Actions. To make a new template, follow Create your first template.

Add and arrange elements

1. Use Text, Barcode, QR Code, or Image to add an element.
2. Select an element to edit its content and appearance. Use Link to to connect it to a store field, such as the product name, price, or barcode.
3. Drag the element to move or resize it on the canvas. Use the formatting and arrangement controls to adjust the design.

Configure label size and paper

Which screen do you see?

Choose the description that matches your app to see its steps.

New interfaceConfigure opens custom dimensions directly, or a brand preset with Customize. Earlier interfaceConfigure shows Paper brand / Paper model, Next, and I want set manually.

New interface

1. Click Configure in the editor.
2. For a brand preset, review its brand and model. Click Customize if you need to change its dimensions; Reset to default restores the loaded preset’s layout values.
3. For a custom template, the size form opens directly. Check Unit (in or mm), label width and height, and any row, column, gap, or sheet-margin settings.
4. Click Save in the configuration form to apply the settings to the draft.
5. Use the editor’s Save action to persist the template.

When creating a new template, paper choices appear before the canvas: I know the brand & model, Custom roll label, Custom multi-column roll, or Custom sheet label. Finish with Create and start designing.

Earlier interface

1. Click Configure in the editor.
2. Choose Paper brand and Paper model. With Custom, choose the layout under Paper type instead.
3. Check Row and Column for multi-column or sheet labels, and Sheet size type for sheets.
4. Click Next. Check the label dimensions, units, and gaps or sheet margins. Enable I want set manually. only if you need to change a preset.
5. Click Save in the form to apply the settings, then use the editor’s Save action to persist your changes.

Use the physical label’s measurements. Sheet margins describe the edges of the sheet; horizontal and vertical gaps describe the spaces between stickers. One inch equals 25.4 mm.

Name and save your template

Open Edit details or the pencil beside the template name to edit its name and organization details. Apply the details, then use the editor’s Save action. In the earlier details dialog, Done only applies the changes to the draft.

Paper configuration and details forms update the draft. Save the whole template before leaving the editor.

Preview and test

The newer editor’s Preview opens a preview using selected product or order data. The design canvas itself uses sample content; it is not proof that a real product has the required barcode or price.

In either interface, generate a PDF from the appropriate printing page with the saved template and a real product or order. Check the data, then print a test label at 100% scale before running a batch.
